Description
The Nektar Technology Impact LX49+ is a 49-key USB controller keyboard equipped with intelligent mapping for seamless control of major DAWs. Its piano-style keys offer a medium tension and come with four velocity curves and three fixed-velocity levels for consistent performance.
It features octave and transpose buttons, along with pitch-bend and modulation wheels. Additionally, it incorporates eight velocity-sensitive pads for MPC-style finger-drumming, each assignable to any MIDI note number or MIDI CC message for versatile use as triggers or toggle buttons. Bundled with the Bitwig 8-Track DAW, it also supports optional connections with iOS devices.
Control Center
The Impact LX49+ features a control panel with nine faders, nine MIDI buttons, and eight encoders—all customizable to transmit various MIDI CC messages for hardware and software MIDI products. Integrated with Nektar DAW integration, these controls offer personalized operation across most DAWs. Storing settings in five presets ensures easy recall without parameter jumping, thanks to the "Null" feature.
Mixer Control at Your Fingertips
The LX49+ keyboard features dedicated mixer controls for easy access to your DAW's mixing functions. Its eight faders match the channels in your DAW, and the 9th fader always adjusts the active channel. Below the faders, buttons handle Mute, Solo, and Pan functions smoothly. Fader 9 manages both individual channel and master volume, ensuring efficient control. It also offers shortcuts for swiftly opening and closing your DAW's mixer window.
Wide Compatibility and Bitwig 8-Track Inclusion
The LX49+ keyboard easily connects to various USB devices supporting Class-compliant MIDI drivers and is compatible with Apple iPad devices using an optional USB camera-connection kit. Bundled with Bitwig 8-Track, it offers access to over 50 software instruments and effects for use across eight audio or MIDI tracks, supporting third-party plug-ins. It's compatible with numerous DAWs out of the box, including Reason, Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, GarageBand, Sonar, Bitwig, Reaper, FL Studio, Studio One, and Digital Performer (installation required).
Versatile Pads for Creativity
The keyboard offers eight light-sensitive pads perfect for creating beats and grooves, particularly suitable for finger-drumming fans. Each pad can be assigned to any MIDI note or message for button triggers. The "Pad Learn" function simplifies assignment: select a pad, play the desired note, and the assignment is set. Saved settings persist through power cycles, and four pad-map locations store setups for later use.
